What a company-data API does, and who calls it

A company data API turns an identifier, name or domain into structured evidence about a business. The useful output might be a registry record, filed accounts, a director relationship, a disclosure document or a research packet. These products support different decisions: finding an Irish company number is a different task from reviewing a supplier's risk evidence.

For an agent enriching a procurement record, the first step is identity resolution. Keep the legal entity separate from a brand, website or group. A matching name is a candidate until its jurisdiction, address and durable identifier agree with the counterparty being reviewed. Domain enrichment can provide helpful commercial context without proving that the domain owner and invoicing company are the same entity.

The table includes 17 services with matching documented priced endpoints as of October 26, 2026. It leaves out 6 candidates that meet the listing checks but lack that task evidence. Standalone wallet risk, token analysis, individual identity format checks and instructions for performing supplier research do not become company records simply because a description uses the word verification. The scope here is corporate facts or a company-focused review built on them.

What the 17 company-data services actually return

The classification follows documented endpoint products. It counts services per type, so a service offering more than one product can appear in more than one row. Each quote comes from the cheapest priced endpoint of that type, with its source route attached.

Kinds of data offered by the listed services, how many offer each, and each service's price for that kind of data.

Each price is the cheapest endpoint of that service for that kind of data: the same number wherever this page quotes it.

Use this table to narrow the product before comparing hosts. A matching type identifies an advertised output, not verified accuracy or complete coverage of your input. The request schema, source period and returned missing-value states still need to fit the job. Read the service-specific notes below for limits that a broad product label cannot express.

Endpoint descriptions name Korea for POKT Agent — Korea data & checks for AI agents, Romania for date-firme and Sweden for Strale and Företagskoll. GLEIF is named by Strale, Mart402, Alien Probe Lookups and Zinin M2M Hub, and SEC or EDGAR by LION — Verified Company & Compliance Data, ISHOB, Polyform, Alien Probe Lookups, Zinin M2M Hub and agosint. Coverage belongs to the particular product, not to an assumed worldwide company database.

The 17 company-data APIs and their matching endpoint prices

One row per service, ordered by measured buyers. The price names the selected task route rather than an unrelated utility on the same host. Primary types determine the preferred quote; a service without a primary type uses its cheapest matching task endpoint.

$/CALL is the price of the endpoint named under it: the cheapest registry identity, search and company profiles endpoint of the service or, for a service without one, its cheapest company-data endpoint. Never the cheapest tool of a gateway. Other kinds of data have their own price in the tables below. COMPANY-DATA ENDPOINTS counts the company-data endpoints out of all the endpoints the service lists. BUYERS 30D counts distinct wallets that paid the whole service on-chain in 30 days, not only its company-data endpoints. "Generalist" marks a gateway that sells more than three unrelated kinds of tools: it is never called the cheapest.

The buyer figure covers the host's measured payments, so it does not establish demand for this particular endpoint. A gateway can sell unrelated tools and a reseller can share an upstream source with another listing. Use these signals to investigate operational fit rather than inferring independent data collection or product quality from wallet counts.

How to choose a company-data API

Match the jurisdiction and identifier

Registry coverage is specific. A company number is meaningful inside its issuing system, and a ticker can change or be reused. Before joining records, retain country, registry, identifier and legal name. Use an LEI relationship as sourced relationship evidence, rather than a replacement for the local registration record.

Separate filing period from retrieval date

A financial statement retrieved this morning may describe the previous financial year. Keep the period and filing date alongside the retrieval timestamp. Check whether values are individual or consolidated accounts and whether a ratio was filed directly or calculated by the provider. A missing market price should not be filled with an unrelated accounting value.

Inspect the review method

A KYB packet can combine registry facts, sanctions matches, adverse media and a provider score. Ask what was checked, which source failed and what a possible match means. A source outage is not a clean result. Use named evidence and explicit limitations when routing the packet to a human reviewer.

Preserve uncertainty in company search

An exact name match can still be ambiguous across countries or subsidiaries. Keep alternative candidates until a durable identifier resolves the ambiguity. For dated snapshots, a missing result may be an indexing limitation. For bounded evidence searches, a page limit should remain visible when explaining what the report did and did not inspect.

Which endpoint fits which job

Start with the job, then compare the candidates whose classified endpoints match it. The price in a job table is tied to those types, which can differ from the service's selected price in the main table. Do not assume that one host's entry quote covers another product it sells.

Resolve the legal entity

Start with the country and a durable registry number or LEI when available. Search by name to obtain candidates, then disambiguate using registered address and status. Store trading names and domain associations separately from the legal identifier so a later website change does not silently merge distinct companies.

Read filed accounts and compare peers

Require the reporting period, currency, unit, consolidation basis and filing source. Compare the same accounting concept across peers and preserve a missing value as missing. A retrieval timestamp indicates when the API read the source, while the financial statement period tells you what the number describes.

Candidates today, most buyers first: ISHOB ($0.001/call, generalist, 16 buyers) · Polyform ($0.03/call, generalist, 11 buyers) · Företagskoll ($0.05/call, 3 buyers) · date-firme ($0.01/call)

Build a company review packet

Ask which checks actually ran and how unavailable upstreams are represented. Keep identity evidence, sanctions name matches, risk scores and recommendations in separate fields. A score is a method-dependent summary; the underlying source and match evidence are what a reviewer needs to inspect before acting.

Watch filings and business events

Separate a statutory filing from a web news item or inferred commercial signal. Save the source publication date, retrieval time and stable document link. Deduplicate amendments and repeated headlines before presenting an event feed as a sequence of new business developments.

Use the exact director or administrator identification supported by the source and examine possible same-name matches. A relationship graph should preserve the role and effective period of an appointment. Do not infer beneficial ownership solely from an administrator-to-company result.

Service details and limits to check

The notes below are read from the provider's description and endpoint list captured on October 21, 2026. They attribute advertised capabilities and source information; x402-list has not independently tested the accuracy of the delivered data or generated output. Price, uptime and buyer tokens come from the current page model.

date-firme

date-firme describes Romanian company records. Identity and search endpoints start at $0.002; financial statements cost $0.01. It also lists administrator-to-company links at $0.01, a sector comparison at $0.01 and a risk report at $0.02. Match a search result to its company identifier before requesting the next layer. A shared director can be useful context but does not by itself prove common ownership or control. For financial comparisons, retain the reporting year and currency; compare corresponding accounting fields instead of assuming that a recent retrieval means the accounts describe the current trading period.

Företagskoll

Företagskoll describes a Swedish profile sourced from Bolagsverket and Statistics Sweden, plus a financials route for the latest digitally filed accounts. The profile costs $0.01 and financials $0.05. The endpoint description says the financial response includes current and previous filed figures and ratios. A retrieval today can still describe an earlier accounting year. Keep the organization number beside the legal name, then preserve period, unit and filing source when adding the response to an internal record. Missing digital accounts should remain missing rather than being inferred from another company with a similar name.

agosint

agosint lists company search across named registries and LEI sources, a separate German register product, and a combined due-diligence call. Its identity-type price starts at $0.02 and its dossier at $0.1. The German route describes a longer-running register search with officers and historical material; its scope should be evaluated separately from a quick identity lookup. The combined check includes company identity, LEI relationships, VAT, sanctions and domain evidence according to the provider. An unavailable source must remain distinct from a negative finding. Resolve the legal entity first, retain the source links, and review a possible name match before treating it as the counterparty in a transaction.

POKT Agent — Korea data & checks for AI agents

POKT Agent describes Korean business and disclosure data. Identity calls start at $0.005: the listed products cover business status, listed-company resolution and identifier crosswalks. Its KYB report costs $0.25 and describes identity, three years of financials, DART and auditor evidence with source dates. Filing-event products start at $0.005. Preserve the identifier system when joining results: a tax business identifier, a DART corporation code and a ticker are different keys. A report assembled from those sources can aid review, while its stated source dates determine which claims can be treated as current.

Alien Probe Lookups

Alien Probe Lookups explicitly describes snapshots. Its company, LEI and name-or-domain identity calls start at $0.005. The descriptions name snapshot dates, say the response includes field-level source and as-of information, and limit name or domain resolution to the indexed material. An unanswered lookup can therefore mean missing snapshot coverage rather than a nonexistent business. This is useful when a reproducible dated reference is preferable to an undocumented live result. Keep the returned date on each field, inspect ambiguity handling, and avoid turning a domain association into proof that the website operator is the exact legal entity you intended to review.

3 company-data endpoints of 5 · $0.005/call (GET /v1/lookup/lei) · Base · uptime 30d 100% · 180 ms · 6 buyers in 30 days

CN Evidence

CN Evidence describes bounded supplier evidence and says to submit an exact Chinese legal name or Unified Social Credit Code. The dossier-type price starts at $0.032. Its descriptions distinguish a basic response from the larger evidence packet and state page and result limits. Those limits matter when interpreting a risk search: absence from a bounded response does not establish absence of operating abnormalities, administrative penalties or other risk. Keep the exact submitted legal name, jurisdiction, query date and supplied source links with the review. An English trading name alone is insufficient to assume a match to the intended Chinese supplier.

What the calls cost at different volumes

The median selected endpoint costs $0.01 per call. At that same request shape, 100,000 calls would cost $1,000.00. This multiplication is a comparison aid, not a provider invoice or a promise that an arbitrary request will use the reference quote.

Each service at the price of its main company-data endpoint, the one named in the table above.

Budget for useful results as well as submissions. A retry, an additional research step or a separate product can add another charge; no-match and partial-failure handling depend on the particular endpoint. For a variable body, model or input size, inspect the returned payment requirement for that exact request. Keep the quoted route and paid unit in the job record rather than projecting from the cheapest unrelated tool on a gateway.

How an agent reaches the HTTP 402 payment step

An unpaid request lets the caller inspect a payment requirement. The example below pairs the documented route with a real HTTP 402 payload previously captured by x402-list's monitor. Its capture date belongs to that evidence; it is not a claim that a paid result was tested today. The documented route has a reference quote of $0.01; inspect the challenge for the exact request terms.

402 of Företagskoll for GET /v1/company/5566322938, as stored by the monitor (terms unchanged since 2026-10-14, last check 2026-10-26 17:40 UTC), with every accepted payment exactly as stored and without error, extensions, resource.tags, resource.mimeType, resource.description and resource.serviceName, which are not payment terms: the full body is also on the service page, under Payment evidence. Amounts are in the asset's smallest unit: USDC has 6 decimals, so 10000 is $0.01.

Inspect the request schema before adapting the example. A documented POST endpoint needs the corresponding JSON inputs; a GET endpoint needs valid query values. Keep the payment requirement tied to the intended resource, network, asset and request. The captured challenge shows what payment access looks like. It does not prove that a paid call will return accurate output, complete a background job or satisfy the application's success criteria.

What this comparison measures

The listing requires an online, payment-ready service, a usable description, an advertised price and at least 90% measured uptime over 30 days. Task selection then reads its endpoint list and keeps the matching routes. Those listing checks establish a discovery threshold, not a certification of output accuracy.

Uptime is based on monitoring checks; average latency measures those checks. Buyer counts are distinct paying wallets observed for the service in the measurement window, with the limits described on the service page. A successful unpaid HTTP 402 response confirms a payment challenge rather than successful delivery after settlement.

Treat the provider's output contract and our monitoring as complementary evidence. Test a representative input, inspect source dates and missing states, and define a successful result before putting a recurring workflow on the endpoint. For comparison details, open the linked service page and the site's measurement methodology. Recheck the exact payment requirement when the input or advertised product changes.

Questions

Is there a free company-data API in this comparison?

The 17 listed services have positive per-call prices for their task endpoints. Inspect the particular request and provider terms for no-match, free-tier or failure handling; a recorded reference quote does not establish the price of a different request shape.

How much do 100,000 company-data calls cost?

Using the median selected endpoint, 100,000 calls total $1,000.00 at $0.01 per call. This assumes the same request shape and paid unit. Retries, follow-up products and request-dependent pricing can change the effective total.

Does an HTTP 402 check prove paid delivery?

It demonstrates a payment requirement from the endpoint. It does not prove that a settled request returns accurate output. The listing reports monitoring and payment observations separately from the provider's advertised capabilities.

Is a company profile enough for KYB?

A profile can establish registry facts, but the review you need may also require ownership, source dates and screening evidence. Check the particular endpoint and keep its limitations attached; a provider score alone is not the underlying company record.

Does a live API return current accounts?

Live retrieval and current accounting information are different properties. Preserve statement period, filing date and retrieval timestamp. Compare periods explicitly before using a financial ratio or revenue figure in a decision.

How should I handle a sanctions name match?

Treat it as a candidate match requiring identity review. Compare identifiers, jurisdiction and the source entry. A similar company name does not establish that your counterparty is the listed entity.

Can a domain identify a legal company?

It can provide an association or a candidate. Inspect the evidence and confidence, then verify a registry identifier and jurisdiction. A brand, parent company, subsidiary and website operator can require separate records.

What does a missing registry result mean?

It may reflect unsupported coverage, a dated snapshot, an ambiguous query or a failed source. Preserve the returned reason. Do not convert a null value into a claim that the business does not exist.

Are company risk scores comparable?

Scores depend on the provider's inputs, weights and failure handling. Retain the definition and underlying checks. Compare a score within its documented method rather than treating similar numeric ranges as equivalent judgments.

How to pay

Each service answers an unpaid call with HTTP 402 and its price; your agent signs a USDC payment on the listed network and retries. No API key, no account, no subscription. See what x402 is.
