What a news API supplies
A news API can find articles, return a publisher feed, retrieve article content or summarize a stream of reporting. Specify which step your application needs. A headline record is useful for alerting and navigation; a complete body supports passage retrieval; an aggregate sentiment score describes a selected population of articles.
Freshness has more than one timestamp. Publication, publisher update, provider indexing and your own retrieval can happen at different times. Preserve the original publication field when available and label an ingestion timestamp as ingestion. A result returned today can refer to an older report, and a syndicated copy can create the appearance of a second event.
This comparison separates explicit news products from publication-order services, SEO visibility reports and general content rewriting. A service that publishes a press release performs a different transaction from retrieving news. Similarly, a description mentioning news does not make an instruction file or a broad unspecified intelligence score into a news dataset.
Compare the returned data
The table distinguishes discovery from content and analysis. A route can belong to more than one group when its description explicitly returns both article records and another output. A phrase such as full-text search is not sufficient evidence of full response bodies. Feed normalization and community submissions remain visible as distinct products so a caller can choose the corpus and evidence level it needs.

Compare 25 services for this task
Rows prefer headline or news-search endpoints as their reference when available. Specialized briefs and analytics keep their matching endpoint quote. Paying-wallet activity orders the comparison; it does not establish publisher authority, completeness or the accuracy of a generated summary.

$/CALL is the price of the endpoint named under it: the cheapest headlines, article records and notices and news discovery and query results endpoint of the service or, for a service without one, its cheapest news endpoint. Never the cheapest tool of a gateway. Other kinds of data have their own price in the tables below. NEWS ENDPOINTS counts the news endpoints out of all the endpoints the service lists. BUYERS 30D counts distinct wallets that paid the whole service on-chain in 30 days, not only its news endpoints. "Generalist" marks a gateway that sells more than three unrelated kinds of tools: it is never called the cheapest.
How to choose a news endpoint
Define the source population
Write down the languages, regions, publishers and subjects you need. A crypto publisher feed and a Korean industry brief can be useful within their declared scope without serving as interchangeable global news streams. Test a known article and an ambiguous company name. Check whether the response identifies the publisher clearly enough to distinguish an original report from a syndicated copy.
Specify the freshness window
Use an explicit start time and time zone for monitoring jobs. Decide how to handle late-indexed articles and updates to an existing story. Maintain a small overlap between polling windows when the API's ordering allows it, then deduplicate by stable identifiers and normalized URLs. An empty page can indicate a filter mismatch, a delayed source or a true absence; preserve the request before drawing a conclusion.
Keep evidence through summarization
For an alert, retain the headline, publication time and source URL. For a factual digest, read the supporting article or supplied body and preserve the passage behind the claim. A generated recap can add interpretation. Label that synthesis and allow the reader to inspect its references. Repeating a summary in another model should not turn the summary into an independent source.
Evaluate analytical outputs in context
A sentiment distribution depends on the sampled corpus, classifier and observation period. A coverage timeline counts matching material rather than measuring the whole public conversation. Compare a quiet interval, an event-heavy interval and an ambiguous query before using an aggregate in an automated decision. Record missing articles and unsupported languages separately from neutral sentiment.
Plan pagination and repetition
Check item limits, sort order and continuation behavior. A latest-news route may rotate old items out between requests; a search route may return duplicates across pages. Keep a cursor or a documented time boundary where available. Budget the follow-up body reads and summarization calls required for an accepted briefing, rather than measuring the discovery request in isolation.
Choose by the job you need to complete
Choose a job by the result your next step consumes. Candidates and their quotes come from the same type mapping used in the main table. A quoted analytics operation should be evaluated as analysis, even when its input is news.
Watch a topic or company
Require publication time, source and URL, then deduplicate syndicated copies. Preserve your query and language filter. A new retrieval time does not make an old article new, and a changed headline can refer to an article already processed.
Candidates today, most buyers first: KR Crypto Intelligence ($0.01/call, 84 buyers) · You.com Search API ($0.005/call, 69 buyers) · Market Intelligence API ($0.003/call, generalist, 41 buyers) · TickersFeed ($0.005/call, generalist, 36 buyers) · ApiToll Crypto News ($0.001/call, 30 buyers) · fetcher.sh — Twitter, TikTok, Instagram & Web Data APIs ($0.005/call, generalist, 29 buyers) · scrape402 ($0.003/call, generalist, 26 buyers) · Atlas Market Data ($0.015/call, generalist, 23 buyers) · GDELT News Search and Timeline ($0.005/call, 19 buyers) · agdata ($0.0239/call, generalist, 19 buyers) · SwarmIO Cloud ($0.01/call, generalist, 10 buyers) · Gloria AI ($0.03/call, 5 buyers) · x402.eleeth.com ($0.01/call, generalist, 1 buyer) · PocketFactory Korean Data API ($0.01/call) · NewsMesh ($0.01/call) · GDELT News Intelligence API ($0.01/call)
Read article bodies
Use an explicit body-returning contract when your pipeline needs complete passages. Full-text search describes how a query is matched; it does not by itself promise the response includes the complete article. Keep publisher attribution and any truncation flag.
Candidates today, most buyers first: ApiToll Crypto News ($0.001/call, 30 buyers)
Normalize a feed you already know
A supplied RSS URL is different from a general topic search. Check the feed limit, author and publication fields, then retain the item identifier alongside the URL. The absence of an item in one fetch does not prove that the publisher removed it.
Candidates today, most buyers first: scrape402 ($0.004/call, generalist, 26 buyers) · x402.eleeth.com ($0.01/call, generalist, 1 buyer)
Receive a cited news brief
Treat a generated brief as synthesis. Check source links and dates before forwarding a consequential statement. A daily digest, a topical research answer and a rolling market pulse can have different time windows even when they mention the same event.
Candidates today, most buyers first: KR Crypto Intelligence ($0.1/call, 84 buyers) · DataForAgents ($0.02/call, 12 buyers) · SwarmIO Cloud ($0.01/call, generalist, 10 buyers) · TensorFeed ($0.02/call, 6 buyers) · Gloria AI ($0.1/call, 5 buyers) · ROBOTINSIGHT Korea Robotics Intel ($0.11/call, 1 buyer) · JEONJANG Korea Automotive Electronics Intel ($0.12/call, 1 buyer) · EVA MCP ($0.01/call, generalist) · Daily AI Digest ($0.5/call)
Analyze news coverage
A tone score, an entity graph and a coverage timeline answer different questions. Keep the sampled article population and time window with the score. An aggregate sentiment value is not a substitute for the underlying articles or an independent forecast.
Candidates today, most buyers first: KR Crypto Intelligence ($0.05/call, 84 buyers) · LoneStarOracle NewsSentiment ($0.05/call, 39 buyers) · Atlas Market Data ($0.015/call, generalist, 23 buyers) · GDELT News Search and Timeline ($0.02/call, 19 buyers) · Qonoro Intelligence API ($0.15/call, generalist, 14 buyers) · GDELT News Intelligence API ($0.02/call)
Track community stories
A community board offers submissions and discussion signals. Separate a submission title from publisher reporting, and keep score and comment counts with their observation time. Popularity on a discussion site does not establish the accuracy of the linked claim.
Candidates today, most buyers first: AgentShop ($0.002/call, generalist, 2 buyers)
What the providers describe
Provider behavior below is attributed to captured public descriptions and endpoint contracts from October 21, 2026. The comparison does not independently certify source coverage, article completeness or the quality of a generated interpretation.
scrape402
scrape402 describes a crypto-news route combining named publishers, with source and item-limit filters. Its headline quote is $0.003. A separate feed parser, $0.004, accepts a public RSS URL and normalizes items. Neither label implies the crawler retrieved a complete article body. Use the feed parser when you already know the source URL and the news route when its declared publisher collection fits your monitoring task.
2 news endpoints of 40 · $0.003/call (GET /news) · Base · uptime 30d 100% · 109 ms · 26 buyers in 30 days
agdata
agdata lists Google News discovery with title, publisher, publication information, description and URL, with language and country parameters. The search quote is $0.0239. Its ordinary web search is a separate endpoint and cannot set the news price merely because its reference is lower. Check the returned publisher and article date before showing a hit as a fresh event; the discovery description does not establish full article text or publisher licensing.
1 news endpoint of 22 · $0.0239/call (GET /x402/google-news) · Base/POL/SOL · uptime 30d 100% · 57 ms · 19 buyers in 30 days
ApiToll Crypto News
ApiToll Crypto News describes Cointelegraph news with feed and keyword-search behavior, full article content and language variants. Its article-body quote is $0.001. This explicit content promise distinguishes it from a search route that matches article text but returns links or snippets. Check the selected language and response limits against your use case; the provider's coverage description is not an independent assessment of completeness or editorial quality.
1 news endpoint of 1 · $0.001/call (GET /v1/cointelegraph/news) · Base/SOL · uptime 30d 99.9% · 690 ms · 30 buyers in 30 days
GDELT News Search and Timeline
GDELT News Search and Timeline describes news search through GDELT at $0.005 and coverage timelines at $0.02. The timeline represents volume and tone over a selected period. Full-text search is a discovery mode, rather than evidence that the returned payload includes every article body. Retain query and period with a timeline so differences in search population are not mistaken for a change in public sentiment.
2 news endpoints of 2 · $0.005/call (GET /search) · ARB/Base/POL/SOL · uptime 30d 100% · 557 ms · 19 buyers in 30 days
NewsMesh
NewsMesh lists article retrieval, latest and trending news records, plus a search route with country and source filters. Headline records start at $0.01 and search is $0.01. The endpoint descriptions do not establish a complete article-body contract, so the page does not place it in that output group. Verify the actual fields before designing a reader around the word article in a route name.
4 news endpoints of 4 · $0.01/call (GET /v1/article) · Base · uptime 30d 100% · 354 ms · 0 buyers in 30 days
Daily AI Digest
Daily AI Digest describes a daily package combining AI-related Hacker News, GitHub and market material. The captured endpoint reference for that brief is $0.5. Its general description and endpoint price differ, so the table uses the endpoint field rather than copying marketing prose. A daily package is a scheduled editorial or analytical selection; decide whether that cadence fits your freshness requirement before comparing it to per-query discovery.
1 news endpoint of 1 · $0.5/call (GET /api/full) · Base · uptime 30d 100% · 853 ms · 0 buyers in 30 days
PocketFactory Korean Data API
PocketFactory Korean Data API describes Korean news search sourced through Hankookilbo, with titles, URLs, dates and section information. Its search reference is $0.01. The declared source helps define the corpus; it should not be expanded into a claim of universal Korean coverage. Evaluate Korean-language queries and preserve the original title when translating a result for an English interface.
1 news endpoint of 3 · $0.01/call (GET /v1/kr/news/search) · Base · uptime 30d 100% · 338 ms · 0 buyers in 30 days
Gloria AI
Gloria AI describes latest topic news, keyword news and a recap covering a recent time window. Its headline reference is $0.03 and its recap reference is $0.1. A recap can be useful for an agent's daily briefing while a keyword route supports incremental monitoring. Keep the selection window and supporting article links when summarizing the recap again, so a chain of summaries does not lose attribution.
3 news endpoints of 3 · $0.03/call (GET /news) · Base · uptime 30d 99.9% · 325 ms · 5 buyers in 30 days
Reference cost and request budgets
The median selected endpoint reference is $0.01. A budget of 100,000 unchanged calls corresponds to $1,000.00 before additional workflow steps.
| AT THE PRICE OF | $/CALL | 1,000 CALLS | 100,000 CALLS | 1,000,000 CALLS |

Each service at the price of its main news endpoint, the one named in the table above.
Use a consistent unit: one query, a feed page, a daily digest or a research job can have different limits. Publication-order fees and prepaid account credits are excluded from retrieval prices. When a provider varies charges by item, cache state or research depth, ask for the exact request challenge rather than treating its catalog reference as a guaranteed total.
Measure cost per accepted alert or sourced briefing. Include body reads, duplicates, failed lookups and downstream summarization in that measure. A lower discovery quote can still require more work if your application needs full text that the discovery response does not supply.
What the captured 402 establishes
The captured evidence for scrape402 advertises the GET news route with an item-limit query. It describes a payment challenge rather than a tested paid news response.

402 of scrape402 for GET /news, as stored by the monitor (terms unchanged since 2026-09-27, last check 2026-10-26 17:43 UTC), with every accepted payment exactly as stored and without error, extensions, resource.tags, resource.mimeType, resource.description and resource.serviceName, which are not payment terms: the full body is also on the service page, under Payment evidence. Amounts are in the asset's smallest unit: USDC has 6 decimals, so 3000 is $0.003.
The example reference is $0.003, attached to the news endpoint. Inspect the source and freshness fields of an actual authorized response before building an alerting promise. The stored 402 establishes advertised payment requirements at the capture time; it does not demonstrate publisher completeness, article accuracy or the contents of a paid result.
How to read this comparison
The starting set is the directory's news capability. Complete captured endpoint lists are reviewed to retain explicit news retrieval, normalized feeds, community stories, briefs and news analysis. Inactive and degraded listings are excluded from the operating comparison. Publishing, reviewing supplied text and selling research instructions are different outputs.
The visible comparison date is October 26, 2026 and median monitoring uptime is 100%. Monitoring checks describe service availability as observed by the directory. They do not measure how quickly a publisher article is indexed or how well a sentiment model represents it. Endpoint membership, primary prices, type tables and job candidates share the same classification.
Keep an evaluation set containing a known story, a duplicate, a source correction and a no-match query. Review that set when changing providers or response mapping. A provider's source claim should stay attributed until you have independently checked the population and retrieval behavior your application relies on.
Questions
Is there a free news API in this comparison?
The 25 listed services have positive per-call prices for their task endpoints. Check the matching news endpoint rather than a free health route or a model catalog. A zero quote for a particular task would still need its request limits and current payment requirements checked.
Does full-text search return full articles?
The phrase can describe which text is searched. It does not establish that the response returns complete bodies. Use the article-body group for an explicit content promise and verify truncation, language and source attribution before designing a reader around it.
What is the difference between RSS and news search?
An RSS parser accepts a known feed and normalizes its items. News search discovers matching records in a provider-defined corpus. Choose a feed for a known publisher stream and a query route when topic or company discovery is the task.
Can I treat sentiment as a prediction?
A sentiment result describes a selected set of articles under a provider-defined method. Keep its time window and source population. It does not independently establish what happens next, nor does a neutral score prove that important reporting is absent.
How do I avoid duplicate alerts?
Store stable item identifiers, normalized URLs, publisher and publication time. Compare syndicated copies and updates before counting a second event. Keep an overlap between monitoring windows when needed, then deduplicate the returned records rather than discarding late-indexed stories.
Does a Google News route imply Google affiliation?
A provider can describe discovery through Google News without establishing an affiliation or a publisher license. Read the declared source, result fields and reuse terms. The source label identifies an advertised collection method, not an endorsement.
Can I publish a generated news recap automatically?
Review the underlying references, date window and attribution requirements for your workflow. A recap is synthesis and can omit qualifications. Preserve supporting links and distinguish the provider summary from independently verified reporting before presenting consequential claims.
Does monitoring uptime measure news freshness?
The directory monitors the service endpoint. That observation does not measure publisher-to-index delay or how recently an article was updated. Evaluate publication and indexing behavior with known stories when freshness is part of your application promise.
How to pay
Each service answers an unpaid call with HTTP 402 and its price; your agent signs a USDC payment on the listed network and retries. No API key, no account, no subscription. See what x402 is.
