Crypto price APIs you can pay per call
As of October 26, 2026, x402-list compares 26 crypto price services with a priced current or historical crypto price endpoint. The median selected call costs $0.0035. Check the quote currency, the venue or aggregator behind the number and its timestamp before acting on it.

What a crypto price API does
A crypto price API returns what a coin or token is worth, in a quote currency, at a moment. The answer looks simple and hides several choices. Whose price is it: one exchange, an aggregator that combines many markets, or a pool on a decentralized exchange? Which asset is it: a ticker such as ETH can match the native asset of a chain or an unrelated token that reuses the symbol. In which currency: US dollars, a stablecoin that trades near a dollar, or won on a Korean exchange? And when: a live last trade, a mid price between bid and ask, or a cached value refreshed every few minutes?
The sources differ in what they measure. An exchange price is what traded or is quoted on that venue. An aggregator price combines volumes and trades from the markets it tracks, so it is a reference rather than a fill. An on-chain price is read from an oracle feed or simulated against a DEX pool; for a small token it can be the only price there is, and it depends on the depth of the pool. Each is legitimate for a different job.
History is a separate product. Candles summarize trades over an interval with an open, a high, a low and a close, often with volume. A dated snapshot gives the price on one day. Backtests, charts and accounting all need history, and each needs to know the interval, the time zone and the venue the series comes from.
Around the price sit neighboring products: market-cap rankings and movers, order books, perpetual funding and open interest, DEX pools and swap quotes. They use prices and often return them, but they answer other questions. This comparison keeps them visible as adjacent types and prices each service on its spot or history routes.
Compare the price source, the asset and the time
The comparison classifies each endpoint by what it returns. A current spot price and a price history are the crypto price products; a service enters the comparison with at least one of them. Market tables, order books, derivatives context and DEX pools are adjacent types: they keep their own prices in the table below but cannot qualify a service or supply its row price.
Price words alone do not make a crypto price API. Gas prices, GPU rental prices, commodity, stock and currency quotes are other markets. A trading signal, a technical indicator, a volatility estimate or a token risk report uses prices to produce a judgment; it does not sell the price itself. A swap quote is an offer to trade a given amount, not a reference price. A gateway that lists a price tool next to unrelated tools is priced on the price tool, never on its cheapest utility.
The method behind a price is part of the data type:
- Price read on-chain, from oracle feeds or a DEX route: agentstools, Market Intelligence API and AgentData API.
- Prices in Korean won from Korean exchanges: KR Crypto Intelligence.
- CoinGecko named as the data source in a matched endpoint description: CoinGecko, CoinGecko Crypto Price & Data (x402 Atlas), scrape402 and santyvv-data.
- Coinbase named as a source: SuVerse Pay, scrape402, PitchPilot Outreach API and santyvv-data.
- Binance named as a source: KR Crypto Intelligence, Crypto Technicals & Web Utilities and AgentData API.
A named source is the provider's statement. It does not say how fresh a copy is or how the provider handles a venue outage.

Each price is the cheapest endpoint of that service for that kind of data: the same number wherever this page quotes it.
Compare 26 crypto price services
Each row keeps the endpoint it is priced on: the cheapest spot or history endpoint of the service, never a cheaper market table, order book or utility. The ordering follows observed paying wallets for the whole service; it does not rank the accuracy or the freshness of a price.

$/CALL is the price of the endpoint named under it: the cheapest current spot price of a crypto asset and price history: ohlc candles and dated prices endpoint of the service or, for a service without one, its cheapest crypto price endpoint. Never the cheapest tool of a gateway. Other kinds of data have their own price in the tables below. CRYPTO PRICE ENDPOINTS counts the crypto price endpoints out of all the endpoints the service lists. BUYERS 30D counts distinct wallets that paid the whole service on-chain in 30 days, not only its crypto price endpoints. "Generalist" marks a gateway that sells more than three unrelated kinds of tools: it is never called the cheapest.
How to choose a crypto price endpoint
Identify the asset without ambiguity
Tickers collide. Use an aggregator id or a contract address with its chain when the route accepts one, and store that identifier with the price. A wrapped asset on another chain is a different token with its own market.
Match the source to the decision
For display and reporting, an aggregator reference price is usually enough. For an order on one exchange, read that exchange: its last price, its mid price or its order book. For a token that trades only in a pool, an on-chain price from that pool is the relevant number, together with what a trade of your size would cost.
Keep the quote currency and the timestamp
A price in a stablecoin is not a price in dollars when the stablecoin moves off its peg, and a won price includes the Korean market premium. Store the currency, the time of the price and, when the route returns it, the time of the last update upstream.
Compare a route across sources before relying on it
A price that differs sharply from other sources can be stale, can come from a thin market or can name another asset. A consensus of venues or a second source catches these cases. Decide in advance what gap stops an automated action.
Test the operating limits
The monitored median uptime is 100% and the median selected quote is $0.0035. Monitoring latency describes our checks, not the age of the price inside a response. Check how many assets one call returns, how often the upstream value refreshes and what a failed or empty lookup costs.
Choose by the job
Each job below lists the services that offer its kind of output today, priced on the endpoint of that kind. A job without a candidate is left out of this list.
Get the current price of a coin or token
Fix the asset before the price: a ticker can name several tokens, so prefer an aggregator id or a contract address with its chain. Keep the quote currency, the timestamp and the venue or aggregator behind the number.

Chart or backtest with candles and dated prices
Check the interval, the time zone of each candle and how far back the route goes. A daily close from an aggregator and a one-minute candle from one exchange are different series; do not splice them without saying so.

Rank coins by market cap or follow movers
A ranking depends on the provider's list of assets and on how it counts supply. Use it to choose what to look at, then read the price of each asset from a price route.

Read an order book or a price gap between venues
A best bid and ask, a book depth or a premium between two exchanges says what one venue would pay or ask now. It is the right input for execution and arbitrage checks, not a reference price for accounting.
Candidates today, most buyers first: KR Crypto Intelligence ($0.002/call, 84 buyers) · scrape402 ($0.004/call, generalist, 26 buyers) · Hyperliquid Market Data ($0.01/call, 26 buyers) · Spread Paywall API ($0.005/call, generalist, 12 buyers) · Crypto Technicals & Web Utilities ($0.002/call, generalist, 3 buyers) · AgentData API ($0.005/call, generalist, 2 buyers) · santyvv-data ($0.02/call, 1 buyer)
Read perpetual funding, mark prices and open interest
A perpetual mark price and a funding rate belong to a derivatives venue. Keep them apart from spot prices: a mark price can differ from the spot price of the same asset, and a funding rate is a payment between traders, not a fee.

What the providers describe
These paragraphs attribute products and limits to the provider that describes them. Prices follow the endpoint of the matching type, never an amount written in a description, and a statement about venues, freshness or coverage remains the provider's.
CoinGecko
The service listed as CoinGecko documents GET /simple/price at $0.005: prices and market data of coins listed on CoinGecko, queried by coin ids, names or symbols. An aggregator price is computed from the markets the aggregator tracks, so it is a reference number rather than the price on the exchange where an order will fill. The same listing also sells on-chain DEX lookups, trending pools by network and a pool search, from $0.005. A pool lookup describes a pool and its trading data, a different product from the coin price.

CoinMarketCap
The service listed as CoinMarketCap documents one route, GET /cryptocurrency/quotes/latest, at $0.01, described as the latest market quotes for one or more cryptocurrencies. The service description also mentions listings and metadata; the endpoint list read on October 22, 2026 contained only the quotes route, so that is the product compared here.

CoinGecko Crypto Price & Data (x402 Atlas)
This listing serves CoinGecko data and says it is operated by x402 Atlas, not by CoinGecko. Spot prices by CoinGecko id cost $0.005. For history, GET /ohlc returns daily candles over 1 to 365 days and GET /history a price, market cap and volume snapshot for one date, from $0.005. A relay is convenient when the upstream service has no x402 route, but its freshness and its limits are the relay's, and an answer should name both the relay and the upstream source.

santyvv-data
santyvv-data sells spot prices from $0.01. Its consensus route, GET /api/crypto/price, is the distinctive one: for up to five tickers from a fixed list, the description says it queries MEXC, OKX, Coinbase and Kraken and returns the median with the minimum, the maximum and a divergence flag. A median of venues protects against one exchange printing a bad price; the divergence flag tells the agent when the venues disagree enough to stop and check. The consensus route has its own price on the service page, which can differ from the cheapest spot route quoted here.

Market Intelligence API
Market Intelligence API prices tokens on-chain from $0.001. Its token price route takes a contract address on Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism or Polygon and, according to the description, simulates a small buy and sale on the best DEX route (Uniswap v2, v3 and v4, Aerodrome), returning buy and sell prices and the round-trip cost as a liquidity gauge. That is an estimate from a simulated small trade, not a fill: the swap that follows can get a different price, and the estimate moves with pool depth. The provider presents it as a price for tokens too new for price APIs. On-chain candles with buy and sell volume start at $0.005.

Hyperliquid Market Data
Hyperliquid Market Data is another x402 Atlas relay, operated by x402 Atlas and not by Hyperliquid. GET /mids, at $0.005, returns the current mid price of every Hyperliquid asset, perpetuals and spot pairs together, in one call. A mid price is the midpoint between the best bid and ask on one venue. For a perpetual it is a derivatives price; the same listing sells candles from $0.01 and perpetual context with funding and open interest as separate routes.

KR Crypto Intelligence
KR Crypto Intelligence returns Upbit and Bithumb prices for one token in Korean won at $0.002. Korean exchanges can trade at a premium or a discount to global venues, the gap known as the kimchi premium, and the service sells that comparison against Binance, through an exchange rate, from $0.002. A won price is the right number for a Korean venue; converting it to dollars mixes in the exchange rate and the premium.

Cost per call and for a larger workload
The median selected route costs $0.0035 per call. At the same request shape, 100,000 calls total $350.00. Use the generated table as a reference calculation, then count how many calls one finished task needs.

Each service at the price of its main crypto price endpoint, the one named in the table above.
Price workloads repeat. A dashboard that refreshes ten assets every minute makes thousands of calls a day, unless a single call returns several assets. Routes that accept a list of ids, or return a whole venue at once, change the arithmetic more than a small difference in the price per call. Keep the endpoint, the parameters, the quote and the response time of each call, so that a cheap single lookup is not mistaken for a cheap feed.
Inspect a request and its payment evidence
For a spot price, CoinGecko documents GET /simple/price, with a reference quote of $0.005. The endpoint description names coin ids, names or symbols as the query; read the current request schema for the other parameters, and keep the identifier and the currency with the price it returns.
The listed method and description establish the advertised contract. This explanation does not reproduce an HTTP 402 challenge or certify a paid response. Open the service page for its payment evidence and obtain the challenge for the exact request before authorizing payment. Compare resource, method, network, asset and amount together, and do not reuse a challenge for the neighboring DEX pool routes.
How this comparison is built
The comparison starts with services that are online and payment-ready, have a known price, a description of at least 80 characters and measured 30-day uptime of at least 90%. Task selection then reads the documented endpoints: a service enters when it lists a priced endpoint that returns a current or historical crypto price. Price words in a service description are not enough, and adjacent products cannot qualify a service on their own. Pages below the index threshold can still be read directly.
Provider claims were reviewed against the public service and endpoint descriptions captured on October 22, 2026. They remain provider claims. Monitoring supplies operating figures and reference prices; it does not establish that a price is accurate, fresh or executable. Buyer counts describe observed paying wallets for the whole service, with the coverage limits explained on its linked page.
Questions
Is a zero-price crypto price option available?
The 26 listed services have positive per-call prices for their task endpoints. A free website, a free sample or a delayed public feed does not establish a zero-price paid route.
What do 100,000 calls cost?
At the median selected quote, 100,000 calls total $350.00 at $0.0035 per call. This reference calculation assumes the same request shape and excludes retries and routes that return several assets in one call.
Is an aggregator price the price I will trade at?
Not necessarily. An aggregator combines the markets it tracks into a reference price. The fill of an order depends on one venue, its order book and the size of the order.
Is a stablecoin price the same as a dollar price?
Only while the stablecoin holds its peg. Keep the quote currency with every price, and treat a stablecoin quote as a quote in that token.
Is a perpetual mark price a spot price?
No. A mark price belongs to a derivatives market and can differ from the spot price of the same asset. Perpetual context is listed here as an adjacent type.
How do I price a token that aggregators do not list?
Use an on-chain route that reads its pool or simulates a trade on a DEX, and keep the cost of a round trip with the price: a thin pool can move a lot on a small order.
Do these prices include the network fee of a trade?
No. The x402 price pays for the data call. Network fees, swap fees and price impact belong to the trade, which is a separate action.
Does HTTP 402 establish a correct paid answer?
It establishes a payment requirement for the request. A stored challenge, an observed payment and a correct, fresh price are different evidence.
How to pay
Each service answers an unpaid call with HTTP 402 and its price; your agent signs a USDC payment on the listed network and retries. No API key, no account, no subscription. See what x402 is.
